CHRISTOPHER CONNORS JOINS BUTZEL LONG TIGHE PATTON AND OPENS CHICAGO OFFICE

Veteran Litigation Attorney is Latest Addition to Butzel Long Tighe Patton, Which Opens A New Office in Chicago

CHICAGO - Butzel Long Tighe Patton PLLC is pleased to announce that Christopher P. Connors has joined the firm as a partner and is opening up the firm's new Chicago office. Mr. Connors has represented clients focusing primarily on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and governmental investigations. His experience includes representing clients in connection with federal and state court litigation as well as investigations initiated by government entities, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice.

"Chris brings a wealth of experience to the firm as a seasoned litigator," said Thomas Patton of Butzel Long Tighe Patton. "He is a first-rate addition to our firm and will be a terrific complement to our team in Washington, to our Butzel Long affiliate, and to the collection of services that we can deliver to our clients."

Before joining Butzel Long Tighe Patton in 2010, Mr. Connors worked for seven years at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom in Chicago. At Skadden, he was part of the litigation team that represented firm clients, such as Delphi Corporation and Kmart Corporation, in connection with a variety of contested matters, adversary proceedings, and claims matters related to their Chapter 11 reorganization cases. He also was on the Skadden team that represented firm clients, such as General Mills, Inc. and OfficeMax, Inc., in connection with investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission into alleged accounting irregularities and improper business practices. In addition, he was part of the team of Skadden attorneys that represented an international corporate client in connection with a governmental investigation under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The expansion of Butzel Long Tighe Patton into the Chicago market will give the firm a greater ability to service existing and new clients in that market, especially in the areas of litigation, bankruptcy, securities, and commodities. As the firm develops its Chicago presence, it looks forward to working closely with its affiliate, Butzel Long. .

Mr. Connors has served as an assistant state's attorney in Lake County, Illinois, where he tried numerous criminal matters, and also as a law clerk for Chief Judge J. Phil Gilbert of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Illinois and graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago Law School, where he served on the Law Journal and was a Thomas L. Owens scholar. He serves on the boards of a number of non-profit and charitable organizations.
